IBPS has released a notification for SO (Specialist Officer) recruitment 2017 (CRP SPL-VI). The exam will be held to fill over 4,000 posts in the cadre. About 20 banks are participating in the common recruitment process undertaken by the IBPS. While the exam will be conducted by IBPS, interviews will be conducted by the participating organisations and coordinated by the nodal bank in each state/ UT. Specialist Officers exam is conducted by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) in order to recruit candidates for the post of  Law Officer (Scale I)

IBPS Specialist Officers CRP Spl - VI Law officer 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria:

Nationality/Citizenship: Candidate must be either

  1. Citizen of India or
  2. a subject of Nepal or
  3. a subject of Bhutan or
  4. a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 01st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
  5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Govt. of India.


Age Limit: 

  1. Candidates age should be minimum 20 years and maximum 30 years as on 01st November 2016;
  2. Candidate must have been born not earlier than 02nd November 1986 and not later than 01st November 1996 (both dates inclusive).
  3. Age relaxation will be applicable as per norms.


Educational Qualifications:

  1. Candidates have a Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB) and enrolled as an advocate with Bar Council.


Age Relaxation Details

  1. SC/ST - 5 years
  2. Other Backward Classes (OBC) - 3 years
  3. PWD (Gen) - 10 years
  4. Ex-Servicemen, Commissioned Officers including Emergency Commissioned Officers (ECOs)/ Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs) who have rendered at least 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment - 5 years
  5. Persons ordinarily domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01st Jan 1980 to 31st Dec 1989 - 05 years
  6. Persons affected by 1984 riots - 5 years
