Purvanchal Bank ( Sponsored by SBI), was constituted on 1st April 2013 after amalgamation of two Regional Rural Banks ( RRBs ) namely Purvanchal Gramin Bank and Ballia-Etawah Gramin Bank as per notification no. F.No. 7/9/2011-RRB ( UP ) dated 01-04-2013 of GOI under Sub section (1) of section 23A of Regional Rural Bank Act, 1976 ( 21 of 1976 ). Purvanchal Bank having its Head Office at Gorakhpur through the network of its 571 branches in 11 districts ( Aurraiya, Ballia, Basti, Deoria, Etawah, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Mau, Santkabir Nagar, Siddhart Nagar ) of U.P. and 10 Regional offices ( Bansdih, Basti, Deoria, Etawah, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Rasra, Santkabir Nagar, Siddhart Nagar ). All branches are on CBS platform.
