Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering - ( GATE )

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science. GATE is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technologies at Roorkee, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Chennai (Madras) and Mumbai (Maharashtra) on behalf of the National Coordination Board-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India.

The brief details of GATE Registration is given below:

  1. All the candidates have to apply online only.
  2. GATE registration 2018 will be started from the first week of September 2017.
  3. The registration will be end till the first week of October 2017.
  4. The authority will provide a period of approx one month for the application process.
  5. Aspirants have to fill GATE 2018 application form through GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS).
  6. Candidates have to register as a “New User”.
  7. After successful registration, they will get the access to GOAPS.
  8. Thereafter, they are required to login using GOAPS Enrollment ID and GOAPS Password.
  9. While filling the application form, students need to upload scanned photograph, signature, thumb impression, degree certificate or category certificate.
  10. International candidates are also eligible to apply.
  11. GATE 2018 will be conducted in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka and United Arab Emirates.
  12. Application procedure for international candidates is same as Indians.
  13. International candidates must possess a valid passport to apply.

GATE 2018 Applications Correction

  1. The correction in application forms can be done from 2nd week of November 2017.
  2. The changes will be done in category, gender & examination city.
  3. All the corrections will done only through online mode.
  4. There will be no challan payment accepted for correction.
  5. Any kind of changes are not allowed in GATE paper.
