Army Institute of Law ( AIL ) Entrance Examination

Army Institute of Law ( AIL ) was established in July 1999 under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society ( AWES ). Its interim campus at Patiala was inaugurated by Lt. Gen. H B Kala, PVSM, AVSM, SC, the then GOC-in-C HQ Western Command, on 15 July 1999. It shifted to its permanent location at Sector-68, Mohali on 21 July 2003. AIL's Mohali campus was inaugurated by HE Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, President of India, on 01 Dec 2003. The Institute runs B.A.,LL.B. 5-year degree course in law, primarily for the wards of servicemen and ex-servicemen of Army. 20 percent of the total number of seats is available to wards of civilians. Out of this, 15 percent are reserved for residents of Punjab and 5 percent for that resident in the rest of India. The Institute is affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala and approved by the Bar Council of India.

Admission Process

The admission process shall start after the declaration of the result of the final year by the Punjabi University. The admission shall be notified by the Institute. The selection of the students shall be on the merit basis of the qualifying examination ( B.A, LL.B/LL.B ); for which the applications will be invited from the interested candidates. The Institute shall conduct the admission through a counseling process, which will be notified in the Month of July-2015. Date of First Counselling-cum-Admission ( Army & All India Civil Categories ) is 02 July 2015.

Counselling Process :

After the declaration of result of Law Entrance Test 2015, first 100 candidates in order of merit of Army Category and 20 candidates in order of merit of All India Civil Category will be called for Counseling at AIL, Mohali.

Required Documents For Counselling :

Following documents will be submitted as per the details given below:-

Photocopies of Certificates along with Application Form

  1. Matric Certificate showing Date of Birth.
  2. 10+2 Certificate with Detailed Marks ( Only if cleared ).

Original Certificates Required at the time of Counseling

  1. Matric certificate giving details of Date of Birth.
  2. 10+2 pass Certificate with detailed marks.
  3. Character Certificate
  4. Migration Certificate
  5. Category Certificate ( download certificate from website )
  6. Medical Fitness Certificate ( download certificate from website )
  7. Willingness Certificate ( download certificate from website )
  8. An affidavit by Father / Mother / Guardian stating whether or not their ward has studied Punjabi at the Matriculation level. ( in case the wards is above eighteen years of age the affidavit shall be signed by him / her ).
  9. It is mandatory for students who have cleared their 10+2 Examination from Education Boards other than Punjab, Haryana, Himachal & CBSE / ICSE to produce an Eligibility Certificate at the time of admission.
  10. Passport size photographs (12) including the photos pasted on the Admission-cum-Application form.
  11. One Photograph of Parents, Family Members & Local Guardians.
  12. Affidavit / Certificate for Punjab Resident Civil Category
