Mahatma Gandhi University envisions championing the cause of higher education in the country by catering to the scholastic, expertise and developmental needs of the individual, the society and the industry through the creation of a critical knowledge base with well-defined means for its dissemination and extension for the society’s sustained and inclusive growth.

The admissions based on CAT-MGU will be through a Centralized allotment Process. There will be separate Entrance Tests for the various academic programmes offered in the different Schools of the University. The candidates need to register only one application ( online ) for opting a maximum of 4 academic programmes / cluster of programmes based on their eligibility. A cluster of academic programmes to which admissions are made from the same rank list will be shown in the online application as a single option.

Details of Common Entrance Test for Pondicherry Private Medical Colleges 2013:

Common Entrance Test for Pondicherry Private Medical Colleges ( CETPPMC 2013 ) is an entrance examination for admission to MBBS course in Private Medical Colleges in Pondicherry. The governing body of the examination is the Pondicherry Linguistic & Religious Minority Medical & Dental Colleges Welfare Association. Candidates can only appear once for CETPPMC though SC/ST candidates can appear twice for CETPPMC.

There are three medical colleges in Pondicherry in which admission is through CETPPMC 2013. These colleges are Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences, Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College & Hospital and Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College Hospital & Research Centre. A large number of students appear for CETPPMC every year for admission to MBBS course in these colleges and the competition is quite tough.

Eligibility for Admission:

As per pre-requisite admission to the Management Quota to MBBS Degree Course, Candidates must have appeared in CETPPMC â€“ 2013. However, mere appearance in CETPPMC â€“ 2013 will not automatically qualify a candidate for admission to MBBS Degree Course. For admission to MBBS Degree Course, the candidate should fulfill the necessary admission requirements prescribed by Government of Pondicherry for that degree course.

Minimum Academic Qualification:

Candidate for admission to the first year MBBS Degree Course should have passed the H.Sc.(Academic) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (40 % for SC/OBC) in the following subjects:

Biology(Botany & Zoology)/Physics/Chemistry/Biotechnology

The Candidate should also have taken English as one of the Subject.

Improvement of Marks:

Candidate may also seek admission with marks secured in the improvement examination (if it is advantageous) provided it is the first improvement examination.

Age Limit:

Candidates should be 17 years of age as on 31st December 2013. However, no upper age limit has been prescribed.
