Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law ( RGNUL )

Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law Entrance Examination is popularly known as RGNUL 2014 Entrance examination. This university is located at Patiala offering BA LLB, LLM Phil and PhD programs to the students by conducting common law admission test ( CLAT ) for taking admission into its LLB and LLM courses. This law entrance examination is very competitive entrance examination conducted by the University for Taking Admission in various law Programmes offered by the university.

Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law ( RGNUL ), Punjab, was established by the State Legislature of Punjab by passing the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab Act, 2006 ( Punjab Act No. 12 of 2006 ). The Act incorporated a University of Law of national stature in Punjab, thereby fulfilling the need for a Centre of Excellence in legal education in the modern era of globalization and liberalization. RGNUL started functioning from its Headquarters - Mohindra Kothi, The Mall, Patiala w.e.f. 26 May 2006. The University acquired approval of the Bar Council of India ( BCI ) in July 2006. The University also got registered with the University Grants Commission ( UGC ), New Delhi under Section 2(f) of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 and has been declared fit to obtain grant from the ( UGC ) under Section 12-B of the UGC Act, 1956.

RGNUL 2021 Eligibility Criteria

B.A.LL.B. ( Hons. ) Five Year Integrated Course

The Admission shall be based exclusively on the merit in the Common Law Admission Test ( CLAT ). However, to qualify for admission:

1) The candidate must have passed 10+2 examination of the Punjab School Education Board or its equivalent with minimum 45% marks in the aggregate ( 40% marks for SC / ST)

2) The age of the candidate must not be more than 20 years in case of General and 22 years in case of the SC / ST as on 01st July 2014

3) The candidates appearing in or awaiting results of the qualifying examination held or being held in March / April 2014 may also apply and appear for the Combined Law Admission Test ( CLAT ) provisionally, subject to the condition that they shall produce the proof of having passed the qualifying exam with the prescribed percentage of marks at the time of their interview / counseling

The candidature of:

(a) those who do not clear the qualifying examination with the requisite marks and / or fail to produce result on the date of interview / counseling, or

(b) those who get compartments / re-appear in any subject in the qualifying examination, shall be cancelled and subsequent securing qualifying marks shall not be considered in any case

Candidate applying in the SC / ST / PWD / State Resident category is required to submit category certificate from the competent authority.

For LLM law course:

The Admission shall be based exclusively on merit in the Common Law Admission Test ( CLAT ). The candidate must have passed the LL.B. / B.L. Degree examination from Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law or any other University whose degrees are recognized by this University, with minimum 55% marks ( 50% marks for SC / ST ) shall be eligible for admission to the course

Candidates appearing in / awaiting results of the qualifying examination being held in April / May 2014 may also apply and appear provisionally for the Admission Test, subject to the condition that they shall produce the proof of having passed the qualifying examination with the minimum prescribed marks at the time of interview / counseling
