MBA | CAT Entrance | Eligibility Criteria

CAT is termed as Common Admission Test is one of the famous competitive examinations in India administrated by the IIMs (Indian Institutes of Management) on a rotation basis. It is a national level examination and a management aptitude test organized for providing admission to students in postgraduate management programmes (MBA). It is mandatory to qualify the CAT exam, for admission into IIMs. Various reputed colleges other than IIMs also consider the CAT score for offering admission.

CAT Entrance 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria for CAT Entrance Exam:

CAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria for General & Reserved category candidates define a different percentage of marks in the qualifying graduation degree. However, there is no age bar for either category candidates to apply for IIMCAT 2018 exam.

CAT Eligibility for General & NC-OBC Candidates

The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.
Candidates in final year of Graduation are also eligible to apply for CAT 2018
If selected, the final year candidates will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if she/he submits a certificate latest by June 30, 2019, from the Principal/ Registrar of the College/Institute (issued on or before June 30, 2019) stating that the candidate has completed all the requirements for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification on the date of the issue of the certificate
Candidates who have completed professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA) with 50% marks

CAT Eligibility for SC/ST/PWD Candidates

Reserved category candidates applying for CAT 2018 are eligible if they possess one of the following qualifications:

Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) category candidates need 45% marks in graduation
Candidates in final year of Graduation are also eligible to apply for CAT 2018
Candidates who have completed professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA) with 45% marks
