The Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal was established in 1957 as one of the first self-financing engineering colleges in the country

In 2000, it became a constituent institute of the deemed university - Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), which is known today as Manipal University

MIT offers a Bachelor’s and Master’s program in engineering streams. It also gives students the option to carry out full-time or part time research. The minimum duration for postgraduate qualified PhD students is three years for full time, and four years for part-time. There is a one year relaxation for applicants with an M. Phil degree. Admissions are currently open for the 2015 batch. Applications are invited for all UG & PG programs for MCA course Admission for the academic year of 2015-2016.

Admissions are done on the basis of rank obtained in an the All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test ( MU-OET ) 2015. Candidates with consistent academic performance will be given additional weightage while preparing rank list.

An application fee of Rs.1600 may be paid in one of the following ways:

1. Online payment through Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking

2. A Demand Draft of Rs.1600/- has to be made in favour of Manipal University, payable at Manipal or Udupi. The details should be filled up in the online application form and the Demand Draft must be couriered to the following address:
