Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences Entrance Test ( SVIMSET )

Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), Tirupati, established in the year 1993, under the aegis of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, as a modern super specialty hospital, was granted the status of a university in the year 1995 by an act of A.P. State legislature vide act no.12 of 1995. Applications are invited through online from the eligible candidates of Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana for admission into the Broad specialties in Post Graduate Disciplines such as, Anaesthesiology-08, Biochemistry- 01 , Emergency Medicine – 02, IHBT-01, Medicine-04, Miocrobiology-01, Nuclear Medicine- 02, Pathology-02, Radio-diagnosis-02 and Radiotherapy-02. SVIMS have to select the candidates based on their performance in Post Graduate Entrance Examination ( PGET ) which conducted by SVIMS.  Applying Candidates are requested to apply on or before the last date.

Sri Venkateswara Institute Of Medical Sciences ( SVIMS ) PGET Medical Entrance Examination  Reservation of Seats– 2015 :

For PG - MD course:

Rule of Reservation for Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes ( A, B, C, D and E ) shall be applied as per 100 points roster (Rule 22 of A.P. State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996. Detail view of 100 points roster is available in official website.

Rule of Reservation for Person with Disability (PWD) shall be on fulfillment of the following:

  • There shall be 3% reservation in 100 point roster system on horizontal basis for differently-able ( PH ) with locomotors disability of lower limbs between 50% - 70%.
  • In case, any seat in this 3% quota remains unfilled on account of unavailability of candidates with locomotors disability of lower limbs between 50% - 70% then such unfilled seat shall be filled up by persons with locomotors disability of lower limbs between 40% to 50%
  • Candidates with less than 40% disability are not eligible for the benefit of reservation under PH category.
  • The disability certificate should be produced by a duly constituted and authorized Medical Board of the Govt. Medical College/State or Central Govt. Hospitals/ Institutions.
  • The disability certificate should be issued, within 3 months prior to last date for submission of application.
  • The candidates who are qualified in the entrance test under PH category shall appear one day before the day of counselling for physical examination by the medical board constituted by the institute, to examine and confirm the extent of the disability as per Govt. guidelines and obtain a valid disability certificate prior to admission.
  • The decision of the SVIMS Medical Board on his/her physical disability status shall be final.

The roster point system for statutory reservations shall be followed by taking the total number of seats in all the courses.

Local Area Reservation:

The local area reservations are made as per the procedure described in the official website.

The following allocations are accordingly made for the three regions of the State of Andhra Pradesh / Telangana.

Andhra University ( AU ) - 42%

Osmania University ( OU ) - 36%

Sri Venkateswara University ( SVU ) - 22%
