Indian Institute of Technology Joint Admission Test ( IIT JAM ) Entrance Examination

The Indian Institute of Technology and Indian Institute of Science may have conducted the Joint Admission Test for Masters of Science and Technology (IIT JAM). JAM Counselling Process 2017

  1. Candidates will be considered for JAM admissions only to those programmes as mentioned in the admission form of JAM 2017.
  2. IIT Delhi will be declaring First Admission List for JAM 2017 on May 29, mentioning the name of candidates considering the order of preference and their corresponding rank.
  3. Candidates who have been offered seats through JAM 2017 counselling need to log in through their registered candidate id and choose one of the three options–Accept and Freeze, Accept with Upgrade, and Reject and Quit.
  4. Candidates going for Accept and Freeze, and Accept with Upgrade options will need to pay the ‘Seat Booking Fee’ of the requisite amount through online payment modes using Credit Card/  Debit Card/ Net Banking.
  5. However, the candidates who opt for Reject and Quit option will receive an OTP (One Time Password) on their registered mobile number and email address, which further should be entered on the online system to reject the offered seat during JAM counselling 2017.
  6. With the remaining seats (vacant seats) after the first round of JAM counselling 2017, the IIT Delhi will be announcing the JAM 2017 second admission list.
  7. Similarly, the candidates who have been offered admissions for the first time through the second round of JAM counselling, need to choose one of the three options–Accept and Freeze, Accept with Upgrade, and Reject and Quit and pay the Seat Booking Fees if accepted the offered seat.
  8. Moreover, the candidates who have been offered a seat of higher preference as per the second admission list of JAM 2017 need to log in and choose one of those three options, but need not pay the Seat Booking Fees again.
  9. The candidates who have been offered seats can cancel the same between June 16 and June 21, 2017, and choose to withdraw.
  10. In the case of withdrawal of the seat, an amount of Rs. 1000 will be deducted from their Seat Booking Fee and the final amount will be refunded to their accounts.
  11. The IIT Delhi will be publishing the third and final seat allotment list for JAM 2017 admissions on June 30, 2017.
  12. The candidates who have been offered a seat (or upgraded to the higher choice of preference) need to report to the allotted IIT along with the documents required for eligibility verification, based on their seat offer letter.
  13. If the candidate fails to accept the admission offer, he/ she will not be considered further for JAM admission process.
  14. With the publication of third and final seat allotment list of JAM, the counselling-cum-admission process closes.
