About College

The Government Arts College, Udumalpet is affiliated to Bharathiar University, Coimbatore was started in 1971 is a multi-disciplinary institution offering diverse courses.  The college with a well defined mission and goal, aims at imparting holistic quality education to the economically and socially backward students of Udumalpet and villages around it has own campus, spread over 42.5 acres.

The College now offers 12 Under Graduate and 10 Post Graduate courses in Arts, Science and Commerce disciplines. The College have 60 faculty members and the student strenght is 2560. The college being situated in a rural area catering to the academic needs of the rural people has succeeded in accelerating the mobility of rural people and helping them to keep pace with the challenges of globalization. All the teaching faculty had undergone a week long training programme to acquire fundamental knowledge of using computers.
