Indira Gandhi Institute of Engineering & Technology for Women is one among the first engineering college in Kerala exclusively set up for women.It is set to be the foremost multi professional research led institution with special emphasis on career oriented education. It provides an integral, inter-disciplinary education, a unique intersection between theory and practice,passion and reason. The institute is managed by Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust. The institution was specifically established to impart Engineering education to women of the country, keeping in view the global technological developments and to meet the requirements of the Indian industry in 21st Century. IIET has Common Computer Facility, Cafeteria,Book Store, Training and Placement Cell, Scholarships, Career Development Centre, Anti-Ragging Committee, Reprography Center, Sick Room and more.

The mission of the institute is to foster an environment for excellence in engineering education and ensure active participation of women in engineering, science and technology, to provide professional training by establishing a high level center of learning that provides quality education at par with the international standards and develop a generation of dedicated woman professionals capable of standing up to the challenges of the present day global market. The vision of the institute is to make India a Knowledge society and knowledge economy by empowering the women of the country through education in engineering science and technology and to become one of the top technical universities in the country known for its value based, quality technical education supported with industry relevant research, with focus on environmental and social issues.
