LBS Institute of Technology for Women

LBS Institute of Technology for Women,Thiruvananthapuram is the second self financing EngineeringCollege managed by LBS Centre for Science and Technology, Trivandrum (A Govt.of Kerala undertaking). The first of its kind in Kerala, the LBSITW began functioningduring the academic year 2001-02 and was inaugurated on 30 October 2001 by theHonorable Chief Minister, Sri. A. K. Antony. This Engineering College is aunique venture of the LBS Center for Science and Technology, under the auspicesof Government of Kerala.

The college is located in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram City. It is situatedat Poojappura, which is about 4 km away from the Thiruvananthapuram CentralRailway Station and K.S.R.T.C Bus Station. The nearest Airport isThiruvananthapuram International Airport, about 15 km away from the College.This college is affiliated to the University of Kerala.

The Centre is administered by a Governing Body and an Executive Committee. TheChief Minister, Government of Kerala is the Chairman of the Governing Body andMinister for Education is the Vice Chairman. The Secretary for Higher Educationis the Chairman of the Executive Committee and Director of Technical Educationis its Vice Chairman. The Director of the Centre is the Member Secretary ofboth the bodies.
