Dr. (Mrs.) Meena Muthiah, the founder of the college is a multifaceted personality. Confirming the rich tradition of the philanthropic perception of her illustrious ancestors like (Late) Raja Sir Annamalai Chettiar, her keen interest and sense of dedication to promote the cause of education is well manifested by the establishment of schools like Chettinad Vidyalaya, Chettinad Vidyashram and Kumararani Meena Muthiah Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kumararajah Muthiah Higher Secondary School, Kumararajah School of Arts & Craft.

The college believes in value based education and inculcates right attitude in grooming them as good citizens of our country. So they should conduct themselves both inside and outside the college premises in such a way so as to maintain the reputation of the college as well as their own.
