M.D.D.M. College, Muzaffarpur is one of the most prestigious and venerable women colleges of North Bihar, which has maintained the glorious tradition of female education since 15th August 1946 the day and the year of its establishment. It is a matter of pride for this college that it has produces alumni, who have won honour and distinction in various fields. The college started writing its glorious history with an amount of one lakh, donated by such a great visionary, Mahant Darshan Das who also motivated such academicians like Shree Narayan Mahtha, Rai Bahadur Shyamnandan Sahay, Shree Mahesh Prasad Singh, Shree Uma Shankar Prasad, Shree Ramnavami Prasad to lead this institution to the ever-widening path of education. The college was shifted to its present building at Club Road, Mithanpura in 1953-54 from the rented building at Kalambagh Chowk, but it has witnessed academic excellence and achievements since 1947 under the administration of Shree J.K. Sarkar. By the end of 1949, Shree Atulanand Sen adorned the seat of Principal and from him, the baton of governance was taken by Mrs. Lalita Singh.
