MKCG Medical College

The Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati Medical College (MKCG), Berhampur was established in 1962. This Medical College and Hospital, being the only major medical institution in Southern Odisha, also serves as a referral hospital. It offers Bachelor and Master degrees in Medical science. The main aim of the college is to provide international level of education to its students to get placed in top hospitals in India and abroad. It is a co-educational and self financed college. The misssion of the college is to generate new knowledge by engaging in cutting-edge research and to promote academic growth by offering State-of-the-art undergraduate, undertaking collaborative projects which offer opportunities for Long-term interaction with academia and industry, and to contribute to Indian Society into the world class stage through excellence Professional, Scientific and technical education with valuable resources.

The college provides a well equipped auditorium and seminar hall with projectors, numerous books for reference to students at the library. The faculty is good and they provide efficient information to students about the latest developments in concerned fields. The laboratories are provided with modern amenities. Many sports and cultural programmes are conducted by the college like Intercollegiate Athletic meet and so. The students and the faculty felt secure as the campus security is tight. Students are encouraged to participate in Community Based Rehabilitation Programmes and Continuing Medical Education Programmes, Conferences, various competitions of Health care Colleges under the Berhampur University and Govt. of Orissa. Study tour is a regular feature of the curriculum in MKCG.
