The SSD Sabha under the dynamic leadership of Sh. Parmod Mittal, a leading CA, ventured and advanced another idea for the betterment and qualitative personality development of the girls with the establishment of this college. In the chain of educational institutions it is the ninth institute and 3rd girls college which is being established exclusively for girls . Sh. Nand Lal Garg (Advocate), President of SSD Girls College of education is working pain stakingly for the establishment of this college. SSD Girls' College, Bathinda (1966) and SSD WIT Bathinda (1998) are two other colleges which had been established by Late Dr. Walaiti Ram Bansal ,a great visionary of the time .

          The Present college of education is going to be established with the motive of nurturing teachers for Secondary/Senior SecondarySchools . This college is affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala and approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
