Common Entrance Examination for Design ( CEED )

The objective of the Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED) is to assess the candidate’s aptitude for design involving visual perception ability, drawing skills, logical reasoning, creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills. CEED is conducted by IIT Bombay. It is a qualifying examination for admission to Master of Design (MDes) programmes at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIITDM Jabalpur, and IIT Kanpur, and to Ph.D programmes in Design at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIT Kanpur. Qualifying in CEED alone does not guarantee admission to any of these programmes. Admitting institutes may conduct further tests and/or interviews for the final selection/admission.

CEED 2019 2021 Eligibility Criteria

CEED Eligibility Criteria consist of those parameters like age, nationality, academic qualifications etc. that are used to measure if a candidate will be considered suitable to pursue the programmes offered by the participating institutes. It may be noted that CEED 2019 eligibility criteria are applicable for the entrance test. Admission criteria may slightly vary from institute to institute hence candidates are advised to check that up before applying to the respective institutes.

CEED Eligibility Criteria Parameters:

Parameters Details
Age Limit No Age limit. Any candidate can appear for the exam irrespective of their age.
No of Attempts There is no restriction on the number of attempts.
Type of degree Any recognized degree/ diploma/post graduate degree programme of 4 years or 3+2 years (after 10+2 level)
Final year students (by July 2019) Candidates who are in the final year or are awaiting their result are also eligible provided they furnish proof of their eligibility at the time of admissions
GD Arts diploma programme (10+5 level) Candidates who have passed the programme by July 2018 are also eligible
