Birla Institute of Technology and Science ( BITSAT ) Engineering Entrance Examination

BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test) 2019 is a computer-based online test for providing admission to Integrated First Degree programs offered at BITS Pilani campuses in Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad.Candidates who have passed their class 12th examination with aggregate 75% marks in PCB/PCM are eligible to apply.

BITSAT exam will be conducted in two slots each day. The first session will be from 9 am – 12 noon, while the second slot will be from 2 pm- 5 pm. You can choose either of these, based on the availability. There is no change in BITSAT Syllabus. Candidates must carefully go through their class 11 and 12 syllabi of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 40 questions are asked from Physics and Chemistry combined while 45 questions will be put up from Mathematics/Biology.

BITSAT 2021 Exam Pattern

BITSAT 2019 Exam Pattern :

·         Exam Duration: The duration of exam will be three hours.

·         Mode of Exam: The exam will be conducted through computer based online mode (CBT).

·         Type of Questions: There will be objective type (multiple choice questions) asked in the exam.

·         Sections: The exam will comprise of four sections, i.e. physics, chemistry, English proficiency & logical reasoning and Mathematics or Biology.

·         Marking Scheme: Three marks will be provided for each correct answer.

·         Negative Marking: One mark will be deducted for wrong answer. No marks will be given for un-attempted questions.

There is no section-wise time limit as per the BITSAT 2019 exam pattern. However, candidates have to complete their entrance exam in three hours duration. Candidates have the freedom to attempt any question/ section in BITSAT 2019 as per their preference and are even given the option to go back to a question previously attempted by them and edit it within the stipulated time duration of three hours.

Some points that candidates need to keep in mind regarding BITSAT 2019 exam pattern are listed below:

·         The exam is of 3 hours duration.

·         BITSAT is a computer based test.

·         The exam comprises of objective type multiple choice questions.

·         Each question comprises of four options and only one answer is correct.

·         Candidates can change their answer for a question at any given point.

·         There is negative marking in the BITSAT exam.

·         There is no time limit on when a candidate should complete each section of the exam.

·         Questions in BITSAT paper are selected randomly from a large question bank and so each candidate receives a different set of questions.

·         Candidates who complete 150 questions in the 3 hours duration get a chance to solve 12 extra questions.

·         On completion of the exam, aspirants are provided with their BITSAT score immediately.

·         Candidates can download and take a print of their BITSAT scores from the official website of the exam on the next day of giving the exam.
