Before the Rani Channamma University came into being in 2010, Karnatak University KRCPG Centre of Karnatak University, Dharwad was functioning at Belagavi. The said Karnatak University PG Centre was established at Belagavi in the year 1982, to provide an opportunity to develop access to the students for higher education hailing from North Karnataka Region. In the year 1994 the PG centre was shifted to the present campus of 172 acres of land located at Bhutramanahatti adjacent to the Pune-Bangalore National Highway – 4 at a distance of about 18 kms from Belgaum city. Karnatak University PG Centre has been declared as Rani Channamma University in the month of July, 2010 with the jurisdiction of Belagavi, Bijapur, and Bagalkot districts. It is catering to the needs of the people of North Karnataka by providing excellent opportunities for higher education.

Rani Channamma University is offering 9 PG courses at Vidyasangam Campus Belagavi, in the faculties of Arts, Science, Education, Social Science, Commerce and Management. It is also offering M.Phil and Ph. D programmes.

Rani Channamma University ( RCU ) PGCET MBA Entrance Examination Reservation of seats – 2014

The allotment of seats shall be done as per the Seat Matrix published by the Government. There shall be both General & Reserved Category seats under Government quota Seats. Seats surrendered by Private Unaided Institutions, if any, shall be considered as General Category Seats.

(i) The General Category and Reserved Category seats under Government Seats shall be allotted to only those candidates who qualify as Karnataka candidates .

(ii) The General category seats under Management Seats shall be allotted to both Karnataka and Non Karnataka candidates.

RESERVATION OF SEATS IN FAVOUR OF CERTAIN CATEGORIES:

(1) Seats shall be reserved under Government Seats in favour of the following categories of candidates to the extent specified by Government, from time to time.

(a) Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes and to the Categories I, II-A, II-B, III-A, III-B in accordance with G. O. No. SWL 251 BCA 94, dated: 31-01-1995.

(b) Candidate who is a son or daughter of an Ex -Serviceman.

(2) Inter-se merit shall be the basis for selection under this rule.

(3) The original documents of the candidates claiming reservation under any of the categories shall be subject to certification and confirmation at the time of admission.
