Himachal Pradesh University MCA Entrance Examination

The HPU was established in the year 1970 and is situated at 5 kms from Shimla at Summer Hill. Among the woods, settled around Summer Hill, the University presents a panoramic natural view. Himachal Pradesh university MCA Entrance Examination Reservation of Seats -2015 :

Reservation of Seats For HPU-MCA Entrance Exam-2015:

Number of Seats :

  1. Subsidized Seats : 30 + 01 ( Reserved for a single Child who is a girl )
  2. Non-Subsidized Seats : 15
  3. Total seats in MCA Course : 46
  4. Duration of the course : 3 Years (6 Semesters)

Subsidized Seats Reservation :

  1. 50% seats shall be reserved for the graduates of Himachal Pradesh University or H.P.Krishi Vishvavidyalaya or Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry and the remaining 50% seats, shall be filled from the open quota, in which the graduates of this University shall also be eligible to compete through competitive test.
  2. 15% and 7.5% of the seats shall be reserved for Bonafide Himachali Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates respectively who have passed the qualifying examination from any University established by law in India which is equivalent to the qualifying examination of H.P. University.
  3. One supernumerary seat shall be reserved for Himachali Bonafide only child who is a girl. In this respect, an affidavit issued by a competent authority shall have to be submitted.

Non-Subsidized seats Reservation :

  1. The eligibility for admission to the Courses against these seats will be the same as provided for other candidates.
  2. The admission to these seats will be made on the merit of marks obtained in the Entrance Test.
  3. The non-subsidized seats will be filled with 75% seats being reserved for graduates of universities located in Himachal Pradesh and 25% seats being open for graduates of any University including universities of Himachal Pradesh.
  4. In case seats in the category of graduates of university of Himachal Pradesh remain unfilled, these may be filled out of the applicants belonging to the other category.
  5. If any non-subsidized & supernumerary seat remains unfilled, it will lapse and will not be merged with the subsidized seats.
