Rani Channamma University ( RCU ) PGCET MCA Entrance Examination

Before the Rani Channamma University came into being in 2010, Karnatak University KRCPG Centre of Karnatak University, Dharwad was functioning at Belagavi. The said Karnatak University PG Centre was established at Belagavi in the year 1982, to provide an opportunity to develop access to the students for higher education hailing from North Karnataka Region. In the year 1994 the PG centre was shifted to the present campus of 172 acres of land located at Bhutramanahatti adjacent to the Pune-Bangalore National Highway – 4 at a distance of about 18 kms from Belgaum city. Karnatak University PG Centre has been declared as Rani Channamma University in the month of July, 2010 with the jurisdiction of Belagavi, Bijapur, and Bagalkot districts. It is catering to the needs of the people of North Karnataka by providing excellent opportunities for higher education.

Rani Channamma University is offering 9 PG courses at Vidyasangam Campus Belagavi, in the faculties of Arts, Science, Education, Social Science, Commerce and Management. It is also offering M.Phil and Ph. D programmes.

In order to obtain admission to MCA course in any Institution in the State of Karnataka through State Level Single Entrance Test, a candidate shall appear for the PGCET-MCA- 2014 Test to be held on 30-06-2014 ( Monday ) between 3.00 PM and 5.00 PM.

The merit of a candidate is determined solely on the marks obtained in the PGCET-MCA-2014. Both Karnataka and Non-Karnataka candidates are eligible to apply for admission.

RCU PGCET 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Rani Channamma University ( RCU ) PGCET  MCA Entrance Examination Eligibility Criteria  – 2014

A candidate who has passed any under graduate examination or equivalent examination with Mathematics or Statistics or Computer Science or Computer Applications or Computer Programming or Business Mathematics or Business Statistics as one of the optional subjects or elective and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects in all the years of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to MCA courses. 45% of marks in both Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Category-I candidates.

Provided that in respect of candidate who has studied and passed one of the subjects specified above in Pre-University Course with fifty percent ( 50% ) of marks in that subject shall also be considered for admission. Forty five percent ( 45% ) of marks in case of SC, ST and Category-I candidates.

Final year candidates are also eligible to apply for PGCET-2014 provided they have passed in all their previous ( years / semesters ) examinations AND will be in a position to be eligible to apply for PGCET-2014

No Part Time course are offered for MCA.

(i) Full-Time MCA Course:

Admission to Master of Computer Applications course shall be open to all candidates who have satisfied the eligibility criteria as mentioned in 4 (a) and (b) with not less than fifty percent ( 50% ) of marks in aggregate of all the years of the degree examinations. However, in the case of candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC / ST and Category-I, the aggregate percentage of marks of all the years of the qualifying examinations shall not be less than forty-five percent.

Important Note:

The aggregate percentage of marks shall be calculated as the sum of the marks scored by the candidate in all the subjects of all these years( or semesters ) of the course of the qualifying examination, divided by the sum of maximum marks of all these subjects of all the years (or semesters ) of the course multiplied by 100.

No rounding off of percentage is permitted. For example even if a General Merit candidate has an aggregate percentage of marks of 49.99, the candidate shall not be eligible for the course.
