Sikkim Police

Sikkim Police is the law enforcement agency of the government of Sikkim in India. It employs a large number of people to patrol the streets. It is headquartered in the state capital Gangtok. The Sikkim police is headed by a Director General of Police and falls under the purview of the state Home Department. Sikkim in general has a low crime rate. In March 2007 there was a fratricidal incident involving Sikkim Police detachment protecting a bank in Delhi. One jawan was accused of murdering five of his colleagues in retaliation for a sodomy attempt. However the details are unclear

Sikkim Police 2021 Eligibility Conditions for Constable

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS FOR THE POST OF CONSTABLE IN SIKKIM POLICE

1. Age:

Not less than 18 years and not more than 22 years with an upper age limit relaxation as under:

a. 5 years in case of BL/SC/ST (i.e. 27 Yrs.)

b. 3 years in case of MBC/OBC (i.e. 25 Yrs.)

c. 10 years in case of BL/SC/ST for Home Guard candidates (i.e. 32 Yrs.)

d. 9 years in case of MBC for Home Guard candidates (i.e. 31 Yrs.)

e. 8 years in case of OBC for Home Guard candidates (i.e. 30 Yrs.)

2. Physical requirements:

a. Height - 5’3”

b. Chest - 32” min. with minimum expansion of 2”

c. Weight - 50 Kgs. min.

3. Educational Qualification:

Class - X pass from any recognised board.

4. Should possess the following documents:

a. Sikkim Subject/Certificate of Identification.

b. Valid local employment card.

c. ST/SC/MBC/OBC Certificate.

d. Educational qualification certificate/mark sheet.

e. Birth Certificate &

f. NOC from Head of Department in case of Government servant.
