Staff Selection Commission Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the recruitment notification for Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL). Aspirants who are interested and eligible for the SSC CHSL Tier I may proceed and can apply application through online mode at the official website. The Tier-I exams are going to be held on 20th March 2018 – 20th April 2018.

SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria for SSC Combined HR Sec Level Tier I

Nationality/Citizenship as per the SSC CHSL 2017 Eligibility Criteria

A candidate must be either

  1. a citizen of India, or
  2. a subject of Nepal, or
  3. a subject of Bhutan, or
  4. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the January 1, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.


Educational Qualifications required for SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria 2017

  1. Candidates, applying for the recruitment exam, must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized Board.
  2. Degree obtained through open Universities/Distance Education Mode must be recognized by Distance Education Council, IGNOU.
  3. Unless such Degrees had been recognized for the period when the candidates acquired the relevant qualification, they will not be accepted for the purpose of Educational Qualification.
  4. The appearing candidates, who will get the educational qualification certificate from their respective Board/University, are also eligible for the appearing in the recruitment exam.
  5. The candidates, who are called for appearing at the Typing Test/Skill Test, are required to produce the relevant Certificate in Original format such as Mark sheets, Provisional Certificate, etc.
  6. Candidates, failing to produce the original documents, will get their candidature  by the Commission.
  7. The candidates, who prove by documentary evidence that the result of the qualifying examination was announced on or before the specified date and he/she has been declared passed, will also, be considered of having the required Educational Qualification.


Age relaxation as per SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria 2017

  1. As per Eligibility Criteria, candidate must be aged between 18 to 27 years. He must be born not before 2 August 1987 and later than 2 August 1996. As a proof of age, class X passing certificate or date of birth certificate will be used.
  2. The constitution of India also provides the age relaxation for the reserved categories, the detail of which is provided in the following table
