ABS Academy, Durgapur was established in 2008. The college is an affiliated and private non-aided college. The primary objective of the founders of this college is to provide a scope & opportunity of higher education to the people of this locality. Besides being conveniently located, the excellent infrastructure of the campus generates an ideal ambiance for studies. The curriculum of the Institute is designed by the Boards of Studies of Burdwan University. 

The College is well equipped with all modern facilities. The College is affiliated to the University of Burdwan. This University was started in 1960 with Sukumar Sen as its first Vice-chancellor. It occupies an exalted place amongst the universities of West Bengal. It has been awarded with 4 star status by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) to acknowledge the contribution of Burdwan University in the educational development of the state.
