Anchalika Mahavidyalaya(KAM), Kanapur was established in 1981. This is a private, affiliated college. The college is leading a vital role to provide the value-based education in this rural region.  The institute strives for socio-cultural as well as educational upliftment of the surrounding areas largely populated by backward communities. The college offers the undergraduate course in arts stream. The college provides a unique educational environment in its campus. Adequate arrangements have been made to provide various facilities to students on the campus.

The college is affiliated to Utkal University, established in 1943 and is the seventeenth oldest University in India. There are at present twenty-seven Post-Graduate Departments located in the University Campus for Post-Graduate studies and research in various disciplines. It has been recognized by UGC and it also has the membership of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
