Balurghat Mahila Mahavidyalaya

Balurghat Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Dt. Dakshin Dinajpur was established in 1970 and is affiliated to University of Gour Banga and offers Bachelor of Arts Honours course with these subjects Engish, Philosophy, Political Science, History. Their three years degree programme. Balurghat Mahila Mahavidyalaya have a well equipped with all modern facilities library, Class and all labs are well equipped with latest equipments. The University of Gour Banga has been established by the West Bengal Legislative Assembly vides West Bengal Act XXVI of 2007. The Appointed Date as per Kolkata Gazettee dated 14th March, 2007 is March 10, 2008. From this date all Sections of the Act except Section 1 and Section 57 have come into force. The University Council as per Section 58(2) has come into effect from May 26, 2008 vide Kolkata Gazettee dated 28th May, 2008. The University of Gour Banga is approved by the UGC under Section 2(F) of the UGC Act, 1956. At present the University is fully funded by the Govt. of West Bengal.
