Bankura Christian College

Bankura Christian College, established in 1903, is the oldest college in Bankura district. It offers undergraduate courses in arts and sciences. It is affiliated to University of Burdwan.

Bankura Christian College was established by the Weselyan Missonary Society in 1903, and was the first college to be established in Bankura district. The first principal was Rev. J. Mitchell. In 1907 it is was granted approval to teach Intermediate Arts (I.A.) and Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) courses and affiliated to the Calcutta University. The was followed by the introduction of Intermediate Science (I.Sc.) courses in 1911 and Honours degrees 1921.
