About College

Birbhum Mahavidyalaya, Birbhum was established in 1979 by Government of West Bengal as a Girl’s College with a view to impart education to younger girls. But in 1987 the college was converted into a co-educational Degree College. Birbhum Mahila Mahavidyalaya was renamed as Birbhum Mahavidyalaya. Birbhum Mahavidyalaya is affiliated to University of Burdwan. Birbhum Mahavidyalaya is situated at Baruipara, one of the oldest localities in Suri in a beautiful open land with natural environment in the North-eastern part of Suri. This Temple of Learning is being governed by the Rules and Regulations of the Department of Higher Education, Office of the D.P.I., Government of West Bengal and the University of Burdwan with renowned nominated and elected in different categories following the rules framed by the Government and the Burdwan University.
