About College

Chandrapur College, Burdwan was established in 1985. It was founded to promote the higher education in this region. This is a Private Aided College. Its aim is to cater the needs of the youths of Burdwan district not only in the field of education but in other aspects such as health, economy, sports, environment, social awareness etc. The curriculum is designed by the Boards of Studies of Burdwan University. The college offers under graduate courses in Arts, Science and commerce stream. The college is well equipped with all modern facilities.

The College comes under the University of Burdwan. This University was started in 1960 with Sukumar Sen as its first Vice-chancellor. It occupies an exalted place amongst the universities of West Bengal. It has been awarded with 4 star status by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) to acknowledge the contribution of Burdwan University in the educational development of the state. The University of Burdwan offers a wide array of courses to the students. The University is facilitated with various type of modern infrastructure.
