About College

Dr. Meghnad Saha College, Itahar was established in 2000. The college was previous affiliated to the University of North Bengal but from last year it is affiliated to the newly formed University of Gour Banga, Malda. It was named after the venerable scientist Dr.Meghnad Saha, who overcame all barriers of poverty.

The college is a symbol of inspiration and adoration for the resourceful yet poor people of the region. The college was initially started functioning with general courses in the humanities stream but within a few years (07) honours subjects were also introduced. The college promotes education coupled with a keen social concern.
