Gandhi Centenary B. T. College, Habra was established in 1968, the Centenary year of Mahatma Gandhi to commemorate the hollowed name of the Father of the nation who was one of the great educators of the world. Gandhi Centenary B. T. College is a co-educational Day Teachers' Training (B.Ed.) College recognised by N.C.T.E. and affiliated to the University of Calcutta. N.A.A.C. has accredited B Level to this college. 

The College is regarded as one of the popular colleges in the region for acquiring teacher education.
