"Gandhi Institute of Engineering & Technology, Gunupur, Orissa was established 14 years ago and since then it has always remained at the forefront India with its remarkable success in the academic and placement fronts. It has always been quick to adapt itself to the ever changing needs of the students and industry. It shares the same view with IBM that India faces a serious skills shortage in the technology industry and therefore GIET decided to go along with IBM who had embarked on the new initiative called Center of Excellence focused on colleges and universities across the country to teach students the open-standards skills they will need to compete in the fast paced technology workplace. 

The IBM Centre of Excellence at Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Gunupur, Orissa was inaugurated on 9th February, 2010 by Kunal Dureja, IBM Sales & Distribution, Software Sales. Our photos show the Centre in its pristine glory built to the exacting specifications of the Big Blue. Just to drive home the point there are only 154 such Centers of Excellence in the whole country and only 2 more in this state. Academic Initiative team has conducted a Training and Certification camp on DB2/RAD/TDS/RFT/ Lotus/WID. Regular academic drives and programs continue "
