About College

Ghoom-Jorebunglow Degree College (GJDC), Ghoom was founded to cater primarily to the students from the Ghoom Jorebunglow region which is the suburb of the Darjeeling town. The College is Government funded and is affiliated college. The objective of the college is to promote the all round development of the students. The institute is situated in the midst of open, attractive scenery of nature.  The excellent infrastructure of the campus generates an ideal ambiance for studies. The College is well equipped with all modern facilities.

The college is affiliated to North Bengal University, established in 1962 with a goal to disseminate knowledge to fulfill growing socio-economic and technical manpower needs in the six North Bengal districts and the neighboring state of Sikkim. This was the first University in the region. The University has played a pioneering role since inception in spreading higher education and scientific attitudes within the predominantly rural areas that comprise its vast jurisdictional territory.
