About College

Gossner College was established in November, 1971 by our Founder Principal Rt. Reverend Dr. Nirmal Minz. Gossner College is a Minority College, affiliated to Ranchi University and is managed by Gossner Evangelical Lutheran Church (GELC) of Chotanagpur and Assam.  The prime objective is to give the young Tribal Christian students of Jharkhand the opportunity to arm themselves with knowledge that higher education can provide in a Christian atmosphere.

Besides academic excellence the college is also known for excellence in Games and Sports. The college has to its credit students who have represented at the District/State/Zonal/National and International level in various events, notable amongst them are Sumrai Tete (Captain) Women's Team India-Hockey, Bimal Lakra, Team India-Hockey and Mahendra Singh Dhoni Team India-Cricket.
