About College

Indas Mahavidyalaya, Indas was established to promote the higher education in this region. This region is an intermediate Panchayat in Bankura district. This is a private aided college. The aim of the college is to provide students with the knowledge and skills they need in this era of information and teaching. The curriculum is designed by the Boards of Studies of Burdwan University. The college offers under graduate course in Arts and Science stream. The college has state-of-the-art technologies and infrastructure.

The college comes under the University of Burdwan, started in 1960 with Sukumar Sen as its first Vice-chancellor. It occupies an exalted place amongst the universities of West Bengal. It has been awarded with 4 star statuses by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) to acknowledge the contribution of Burdwan University in the educational development of the state. The jurisdiction of the university spreads across five districts of West Bengal - Burdwan, Hooghly (excluding Serampore Subdivision), Bankura, Birbhum and Purulia, nourishing more than 100 colleges. The University is facilitated with various type of modern infrastructure.
