Laxmipur Govt. College (LGC) was established privately on a area of
8.62 acres on July 01, 1964. Its founder Muhammad Abdul Jabbar was an
illustrious son of Laxmipur. The college started with 150 students, 14
teachers and 8 employees. The college was nationalized on March 01, 1980.
The college currently has Honors courses in 08 disciplines and Master's
courses in 03 disciplines. The number of students is no fewer than 6,500.
The student of this college has so far proved their skills not only in
academic arena but also in culture, sports and games. The numbers of Rover
Scout Team and BNCC Platoon of this college play an important role in
performing the co-curricular activities and national day's celebration.
