Pakim Palatine College,Sikkim is a co-educational Degree College set up in 2004. It is run by the Pakim Palatine Educational Society and is affiliated to Sikkim University since July 2008. In 2009 it introduced a professional course in microbiology. The college also provides extra curricular activities ranging from debate, seminars, social service, and personality programs.Pakim Palatine College (PPC) has become moral booster for the hills students. Now slowly the students are getting rid of inferiority complex that they are inferior in academic performance to their counterparts the plain’s student as PPC has made a record to achieve 100 per cent Results in the state in the first semester under Sikkim University and day to day the college is gaining ground. “The college was set up to impart equal opportunities to the students aspiring for quality higher education and accordingly the students were taught as a result they performed well in the state, despite being the new syllabus of Sikkim University for them as earlier the college was under NBU,” said Mr. Rup Raj Rai , Chairman of Pakim Palatine Educational Society which runs the college established in 2004 at Pakyong, in a press conference organized at the office of Unique Quest Vacation near Amdo Golai.

Saying the college is a non-commercial organization run by the society; Mr. Rai added there are certain mission and vision for the college: To give quality higher education to the talented and economic weaker section of the population, to create awareness among parents and youths the values of education, to inculcate values of equality unity and justice, to preserve our culture faith and philosophy, to create avenue for employment generation and to exploit the untapped latent native potential for the benefit of the society and to make students to be conscious of their duty to the country and the fellow human beings.Mr.Devasish Dasgupta, principal of the college, said PPC is a first of its kind multi faculty co-educational Degree College in the state .The college has been affiliated to Sikkim University since July 2008.”The institution stands for social causes of providing equal higher educational opportunities to the native and strives to develop citizen with knowledge, skill and character leading to social transformation and national development,” he said.
