People's College, Buguda, was established in 1978 by the eminent educationists and social workers including the their MLA of Jagannath Prasad Assembly Constituency with a view to providing youth of this are access to the Higher Education. This was their long standing aspiration to acquire Higher Education. The main objective was to bring them to the main stream and to show light of education to the successive generations. This place was educationally backward and needed an institution to spread the touch of light to this area.
