Saheed Nurul Islam Mahavidyalaya was established on the day of August 2001 with a view to promote higher education in the local area. The college had a very humble beginning with a handful of students starting their classes in a few rooms. However today's picture is one of complete transformation. Now the college offers a wide choice of undergraduate courses in Arts stream. The college is well equipped with all modern facilities. A variety of teaching and learning techniques are employed to impart knowledge and skills to the students of the college.
