About College

An institution named after Sarojini naidu, the great freedom fighter and poet, has an ideal to live up to. Her life and times have been an inspiration to all those associated with college in their collective effort towards the advancement of learning and culture among the young women of India. 

The college was established on 14th August 1956 and received its affiliation from the University of Calcutta in 1956 under UGC Act 2F and 12B. As a degree College of North 24 Paraganas, we are now affiliated to West Bengal State University (WBSU), Barasat 

Sarojini Naidu College for Women, with its beautiful sprawling campus and greeen environs opposite Dum Dum Telephone Exchange is one of the premier Institution for women's education in West Bengal.

The college today stand among the best women college of the West Bengal. The college provides excellent teaching faculty, upgraded laboratory, well stocked library for pursuit of studies.

The college is situated on the Jessore Road. The close proximity of the college to Nager Bazar (Dumdum) and Airport 1 no. Gate have helped it draw students from wide areas of Kolkata and North 24 Paraganas.
