About College

Silda Chandra Sekhar College(SCSC), Paschim Medinipur was established in 1971. This is a private co education college. The college was started with a mission to provide excellence in education at the undergraduate level to the students of all communities and especially to the financially backward students in the rural area. The college is conveniently located and provides quality education to the students. The college offers courses in Arts, Commerce and Science stream. The curriculum is designed by the Boards of Studies of Vidyasagar University. The college has state-of-the-art technologies and infrastructure.

The college is affiliated to Vidyasagar University, established in 1981. The University was named after one of the most illustrious sons of Bengal as well as one of the doyens of Indian Renaissance; Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar. This is a renowned University in West Bengal. It was established with a mission to fulfill the higher mainstream education needs of the region. The University has been awarded with 3-star status by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
