About College

Siliguri College was established in 1950 under a dispersal scheme of the Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation Department of the Government of West Bengal with a view to imparting higher education to the refugee student population of the post-partition Siliguri. The affiliation of the College initially lay with the Calcutta University and it was after the inception of the University of North Bengal in the year 1962, that the College came to be affiliated to the latter.

The college main objectives was to provide as much flexibility as possible in choice of subject combination to the students and they offer as many as 153 possible combinations at present out of a range of 22 general subjects along with 2 vocational subjects and one professional program.
