Tufangang Mahavidyalaya(TM), Cooch Behar is a Co-Education, affiliated college.  The college was established to promote higher education in this area. The college is providing the needs of higher and quality education of the local people. The college offers undergraduate courses in Arts and commerce stream. The college is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and recognized by the UGC under 2(f) & 12(b). The college is well equipped with all modern facilities. A variety of teaching and learning techniques are employed to impart knowledge and skills to the students of the college.

The college is affiliated to the North Bengal University, established in 1962 with a goal to disseminate knowledge to fulfill growing socio-economic and technical manpower needs in the six North Bengal districts and the neighboring state of Sikkim. This is a state university situated near Siliguri in Darjeeling district. The University was established by Act of the Legislature of West Bengal in 1962. This was the first university in the region. The University has played a pioneering role since inception in spreading higher education and scientific attitudes within the predominantly rural areas that comprise its vast jurisdictional territory.
