Vidyasagar School of Social Works(VSSW),  Kolkata was established in 1994. The college was started with the mission to promote higher education in this region. The objective of the college is to expand the boundaries of human knowledge and benefit society through research oriented education. Besides being conveniently located, the excellent infrastructure of the campus generates an ideal ambiance for studies. The curriculum is designed by the Boards of Studies of Vidyasagar University. The college has state-of-the-art technologies and infrastructure. The college is affiliated to Vidyasagar University, established in 1981. The University was named after one of the most illustrious sons of Bengal as well as one of the doyens of Indian Renaissance; Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar. The University has been awarded with 3-star status by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
