Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University ( TNDALU )

The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University was established by the Government of Tamil Nadu by an Act of State Legislature. It was formally inaugurated by the then president of India Thiru K.R. Narayanan in 1997. The University started functioning immediately after the inauguration. The main objectives behind the establishment of this law university were to impart quality legal education and to promote the knowledge of law among masses.
Since its inception, the University has been striving towards improving the communal harmony and to achieve the goal of egalitarian society through legal literacy programmes.
The Law University is also opting to promote the skills of advocacy among the law students and research scholars so as to serve the society with a sense of responsibility while providing legal services, making legislation and suggesting law reforms.

TNDALU 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University ( TNDALU ) Law Entrance Examination Eligibility Criteria  – 2014

For Five Year B.A., B.L.[ HONS. ]Degree course:

A candidate should have passed Higher Secondary Examination ( 10+2 ) OR its equivalent examination   recognized by the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai and should have secured not less than70%ofthetotal marks in the aggregate of all the subjects.

 In case of students who make a claim under the Non –Resident Indians ( NRI )category, they should have secured not less than60%in the qualifying examination.

The candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe communities should have secured not less than 60% of the total marks in the aggregate of all subjects.

Age Limit:

A candidate should not have completed 20 years of age as on 1st June 2014 ( i.e. should have been born on or after 01.06.1994 ). The candidates belonging to SC / ST communities should not have completed 22 years of age as on 1st June 2014 (i.e. should have been born on or after 01.06.1992)

Eligibility Criteria for Five Year B.Com. B.L.[ HONS. ] Degree course:

Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination (10+2 ) with Commerce group subjects or equivalent examination with relevant subjects alone are eligible to apply.

They should have secured not less than 70% of the total marks in the aggregate of all the subjects. In case of students, who make a claim under the Non-Resident Indian ( NRI ) category, they should have secured not less than 60% in the qualifying examination.

The candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe communities should have secured not less than 60% of the total marks in the aggregate of all subjects.

Age Limit

A candidate should not have completed 20 years of age as on 1st June 2014 ( i.e. should have been born on or after 01.06.1994 ).

The candidates belonging to SC / ST communities should not have completed 22 years of age as on 1st June 2014 ( i.e. should have been born on or after 01.06.1992 )

Eligibility Criteria for 3 year B.L. [ HONS. ] :

The candidates should have passed any degree ( B.A./ B.Sc./ B.Com./ B.B.A. / B.E./ B.Tech./ M.B.B.S./ B. Pharm  / other graduates in general ) and should have secured not less than 60% of the total marks in the aggregate. The applicants who have completed 10+2 or graduation / post graduation through Open University system directly without having any basic qualification are not eligible.

Non-Resident Indian ( NRI ) candidate should have secured a minimum of 55% of the total marks in the aggregate of all subjects. The candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe communities should have secured not less than 55% of the total marks in the aggregate of all subjects. Employed candidates are not eligible to apply.

Age Limit

A Candidate Should Not Have Completed 25 Years Of Age As On 1st June 2014 ( I.E. Should Have Been Born On Or After 01.06.1989 ).

The Candidates Belonging To SC / ST Communities Should Not Have Completed 27 Years Of Age As On 1st June 2014 ( I.E. Should Have Been Born On Or After 01.06.1987 ).
