Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University ( TNDALU )

The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University was established by the Government of Tamil Nadu by an Act of State Legislature. It was formally inaugurated by the then president of India Thiru K.R. Narayanan in 1997. The University started functioning immediately after the inauguration. The main objectives behind the establishment of this law university were to impart quality legal education and to promote the knowledge of law among masses.

Since its inception, the University has been striving towards improving the communal harmony and to achieve the goal of egalitarian society through legal literacy programmes.

The Law University is also opting to promote the skills of advocacy among the law students and research scholars so as to serve the society with a sense of responsibility while providing legal services, making legislation and suggesting law reforms.

For 5 Year B.A.,B.L. [HONS.] and B.COM.,B.L. [ HONS. ] Degree Courses:

The candidates applying for admission to the B.A.,B.L. ( Hons.) Degree Course and B.Com. B.L. ( Hons. ) Degree Course will be ranked according to the marks obtained by them in their qualifying examination excluding languages in Parts I & II and also on the basis of communal and special reservation as is prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu ( G.O.Ms.No.83 Law ( LS ) Department dt.19.04.2007 ).

For 3 Year B.L. [Hons.] Degree Course:

Selection for the candidate applying for B.L., [Hons.] Degree Course will be based on “the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in aggregate of all the subjects in the qualifying degree examination, excluding languages, may be taken into account.

In case where the language alone is the subject of the qualifying examination, the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the said examination may be taken into account” ( G.O.Ms.No.83 Law ( LS ) Department dt.19.04.2007 ).
