National Science Olympiad ( NSO ) is organized to motivate students to strive for better and deeper understanding of scientific facts and data and to enhance their reasoning, analytical and problem solving skills. The Organizing Body of NSO olympiad Entrance Examination is SOF ( Science Olympiad Foundation)The Science Olympiad Foundation, ( SOF ) is an educational foundation and a non-profit organisation, based at New Delhi ( India ), which promotes Science, Introductory Computer Education, Mathematics and English in India and other places like Singapore, Oman, Qatar, Nepal, Bahrain, Sri Lanka, U.A.E. and Durban. National Science Olympiads ( NSO ) Olympiad Entrance Examination Selection Procedure Details – 2015 :

Criteria for Qualification for 2nd Level Olympiad Exams:

Student fulfilling any of the following 3 criteria will qualify for 2nd level Olympiads exams:

Top 5% of students, class wise who appear for the 1st level exam. Due weightage to marks scored in different sections will be given.

Zone wise / State wise top 10 rank holders from each class.

Class topper where at least 10 students from a class appear in the exam & scores at least 50% marks.

2nd level exam will be held for Cyber, Science & Mathematics Olympiads for students from class 3 onwards. Incase two or more students score same total marks, ranks will be determined by following weightage. A student scoring more marks in section with higher weight age will get higher rank.
