The Border Security Force ( BSF ) is a Border Guarding Force of India. Established on December 1, 1965, it is a paramilitary force charged with guarding India's land border during peace time and preventing transnational crime. It is a Union Government Agency under the administrative control of Ministry of Home Affairs. It is one of many law enforcement agency of India. It currently stands as the world's largest border guarding force.

Border Security Force Recruitment for the post of Constable Technical "Group – C" Recruitment Details – 2014

BSF will hold an All India Examination for recruitment to the various posts of Motor Transport Workshop Cadre for the year-2014.

Constable Technical “Group – C” Eligibility Criteria:

( i ) Matriculation or 10th Class pass  from a recognized Board or Institution  or equivalent; and

Industrial Training Institute certificate in respective trade;   or

Three years’ work experience    in respective trade.

Age limit: 18 to 25 years as 14th July 2014

 Physical Standard:

Category: UR / SC / ST / OBC

Height: 165 Cms

Chest: Unexpanded - 75 Cms , Expanded- 80 Cms

Weight: Corresponding to   Height as permedical standards.

Medical Standard:

Vision: minimum distant vision 6 / 6 and 6 / 9 both eyes without correction ( i.e. without wearing of glasses ) .

Must pass high grade colour vision test. Must not have knock knees, flat foot or squint eyes. Must not have any defect or deformity likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.

Must qualify the physical efficiency test, technical aptitude and trade test both written and practical and qualify in the interview.

Selection Procedure:

The selection procedure will be as under:-

First Phase of the Examination

Written Examination ( 60 Marks )  on OMR based answer sheets-

The written examination will be conducted at the selection centres. There will be one composite paper for one & half hour ( 90 Mins )  duration from respective discipline and will be “OBJECTIVE TYPE WITH MULTIPLE CHOICES”.

Qualifying marks in written examination-

For OBC / Gen Category Candidate -35%  ( 21 Marks )

For SC / ST Category Candidate-33%  ( 20 Marks )

Second Phase of the Examination

Successful candidates of written examination will appear before the selection board for second phase of the Examination on due date, which will be communicated them through BSF Website  ( bsf.nic.in ) . They will be put through subsequent stages. Candidates have to qualify all the stages of Second phase of the examination one by one. If any candidate found to be not qualified in any of the events of examination, he will be eliminated from the process.

Documentation

The documentation will be carried out at the selected centres on the date and time fixed by Competent Authority which will be indicated in the admit card of the candidates.

Physical Measurement

Physical Measurement will be carried out by the selection board to assess their height, weight and chest according to the Physical Standard mentioned at para V

Physical Efficiency Test ( PET will not carry any marks but will be of qualifying in nature ) 

Those candidates found fit in Physical Measurement will be put through for Physical Efficiency Test  ( PET )  as under:-

Interview– ( 10 Marks )

Interview will be conducted of all the candidates who will appear for Written and Practical Examination by the selection board.

Qualifying marks in Interview-

For OBC / Gen Category Candidate - 04 Marks

For SC / ST Category Candidate - 3.5 Marks

Medical examination

Candidates who qualify all the above stages i.e. Documentation, PST, PET and Written Exam, Practical & Interview will undergo detailed Medical Examination, which will be carried out by detailed Medical Officer.

Application Procedure:

Application duly filled up in the given format may be sent to any one of the following addresses nearest to the candidate within 30 days from the date of publication of advertisement in the employment news:

Two self attested recent passport size photographs should be attached to the application Form. One each photograph to be affixed on the application form and admit card and third one to be kept in record. Two self-addressed envelopes of size of 25 x12 cms with postal stamp worth Rs. 27 / - each should also be attached with the application form. Important Instructions Recruitment Details – 2014:

1. BSF will hold an All India Examination for recruitment to the various posts of Para Medical Staff in BSF for the year-2014.

2. Candidates are advised to go through the requirement of educational qualification, age, physical standards, etc. and satisfy themselves that they are eligible for the posts, before applying. BSF reserves the right to cancel the candidature of any candidate at any stage of the selection process, if he is found not qualifying any of the prescribed eligibility criteria. The detailed advertised is available on the website of the BSF www.bsf.nic.in.

3. Candidates seeking reservation benefits for SC / ST / OBC / Ex-Servicemen must ensure that they are entitled to such reservation as per eligibility prescribed in the notice. They should also be in possession of the certificates in the format prescribed by Government of India in support of their claim at the time of application.

4. Central Government Civilian Employees / Servants claiming age relaxation should be in possession of a certificate in the prescribed format from their office, in respect of the length of continuous service which should be for not less than three years in the immediate period preceding the closing date for receipt of application ( i.e. 14th July 2014 ) . They should continue to have the status of Central Government Civilian Servants / Employees from the day of application till the time of appointment on the basis of their performance in this examination to be eligible for such age relaxation.

5. Mobiles and other Electronic Gadgets are banned within the premises of the Examination Centers.

6. The selected candidate are liable to be posted anywhere in the Country as per the transfer policy of the Force.

7. The recruitment will be done on All India Basis.

8. Selected candidate will be governed by BSF Act and Rules.

9. On appointment they shall be entitled for pension benefits as per the “New Restructured Defined Contributory Pension Scheme” applicable for the new entrants to the Central Government services w.e.f 01st Jan’ 2004.
