The Government College of Engineering & Textile Technology, Murshidabad was established in 1927. Formerly known as College of Textile Technology, the college is affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. In 2004, Department of Textile Technology of the institute got accreditation from National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The college imparts quality education in Engineering and Textile Technology, at under graduate level. Over the years, Government College of Engineering & Textile Technology has earned the reputation of being one among the best institutions in the state.
